Dream Demons - Nickelwise

Description

I remember this dream better than most of my other dreams for some reason. I was running through a hallway of doors, kind of like Scooby Doo except actually scary. I knew something was chasing me. When I looked behind me, there it was, running on a thousand clown-shoe-wearing feet. It's head looked like that of an average evil clown, complete with spiky red hair. Its body consisted of spherical segments with brown shells on each, like a cartoon centipede. It also wore a dunce cap, but I knew better than to think this thing was stupid. It was constantly chasing me through these dark hallways. However, I knew how to defeat it. Every time I went through a door, I slammed it shut behind me. Dream logic dictated that whenever I did this, one of its legs would get caught in the door and rip off. This way it would become slower. I did this for a while, and just when I thought that I had lost it, it outwitted and cornered me. With nowhere to run, I readied myself for a fight but the thing lunged at me with such strength that I knew I was done for...

One of my favorite Dream Demons I've been meaning to draw.
And no, I've never seen Stephen King's IT before, but I did know that the clown's name was Pennywise. So, I thought Nickelwise was a fitting name for this Demon.

Don't you think it is an odd coincidence that the "It" parody in the Animaniacs reboot (specifically the episode "Fear and Laughter in Burbank") is also named "Nickelwise"?

At any rate, you're lucky that is just a dream! I don't mean to spoil the episode for you-- seriously, you should see it-- but Yakko had a REAL encounter with a demon clown (oddly, the only clown his brother Wakko ISN'T afraid of) that feeds off the souls of children that succumb to their fear... and on Halloween of all nights! Long story short, if it wasn't for Wakko and Dot, Yakko would've been a goner for sure.
